I JUST DON’T CARE!
I hope this first line caught your attention.
What is it that I don’t care about?
Well, I don’t care how many DVDs, Tricks, Instant Downloads, or Ebooks you buy.
I don’t care how many hours you spend on YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter.
I don’t care how many weeks you spend inventing magic that has already been invented.
IF YOU WANT TO BE A GOOD MAGICIAN, YOU JUST HAVE TO READ!
I have yet to see a good magician who has done it any other way.
If you would just TRUST ME, I can help you become the best you can be.
I have just received a restock of some of the most important books in magic. These are fairly new publications.
I have also listed a few of the important “classics” as well.
THESE ARE SOME OF MY PERSONAL FAVORITES.
I Would really be pleased if my clients would read these books.

Something so important that many will miss out on the real golden nuggets hidden in this book if they are just looking for effects. All the routines come directly from his entertaining and original close-up shows, T.V., Theatre and Cabaret performances. His streamlined methods and presentations are honed to perfection from thousands of live performances.
But this isn’t just a book about terrific tricks; Geoffrey shares his innermost thoughts on showmanship, patter, audience handling, rehearsal and much more, in a series of well written essays that aren’t so much magical theory but true magical genius.
Drawing from his vast experience as a performer in many venues, Geoffrey helps you learn from his mistakes. He sets you on the road to REAL show-business success.
Over 240 pages of solid professional material; no fluff or fillers here. Hard bound, beautifully executed with colorful dust jacket. A book to be read over and over again.

“Geoffrey Durham has pulled off a rare trick: he’s a high profile, hugely successful magician who has written a book which is modest, honest and packed full of strong, polished performance pieces and powerful practical advice which will make you a better performer. If you call yourself a magician you must read it.” -Anthony Owen
The book begins with a fascinating look at Geoffrey’s early life. How he became interested in Magic, his successes and his failures. It is a fascinating overview of the early Durham. This is important, especially if you are unfamiliar with Geoffrey as it helps explain his choice of material and the methods he ultimately chooses.

PRAISES FROM THE MASTERS:

KODELL, DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT by Jack Kodell-$60.00
For a lifetime, Kodell traveled the world with his unique creativity, and a flight of birds. Headlining long running shows around the world in five-star venues from the Moulin Rouge and the Lido in Paris, the London Hippodrome, The Savoy Hotel, and the London Palladium in the United Kingdom, and the Ed Sullivan Show, New York’s Copacabana, and The Latin Quarter in the United States. He also accomplished a number of firsts in his career including being the first magician to perform in Las Vegas. Kodell always strived to be different with his magic and his life. From flying an airplane at the age of nine to doubling at the Moulin Rouge and the Lido for one year in his early thirties. To quote the legendary magician Channing Pollock, “Thanks Kodell for paving the way for me and other magicians to follow.”
When he retired from show business at the young age of thirty-three he had five years of contracts sitting on his managers desk. So why would someone walk away from show business at such a young age?
Kodell had the best of both worlds, a privileged life, and his wildest dreams coming true. All thanks to Doing Something Different in the world of magic
DEL RAY, AMERICA’S FOREMOST by John Moehring-$68.00
Del Ray was considered the most innovative magician of the 20th century. Secretly intermingling technologies with traditional trickery, he performed miracles of magic that were unlike those of any other magician. Throughout his life, he passionately guarded the secrets of both his professional and personal affairs. Because Del Ray remained steadfast in his refusals to ever discuss or share his magic, his magician friends and fans feared that a book on his life would never see print.
Now, seven years after Del Ray’s death in 2003, through the gracious efforts of the publishing partnership of Bob Escher (who was bequeathed the Del Ray collection), David Baldwin, and Bill Spooner, the book has become a reality and a welcome addition to magic history’s literature. Having complete access to the Del Ray archive, which included his personal scrapbooks and memorabilia as well the ingenious magic that Del Ray created over the years, author John Moehring has crafted a volume that is both insightful and revelatory.
Part One traces Del Ray’s career in magic beginning with his adolescent years in an orphanage where he performed his first paid show for $3, to his meteoric rise to fame in the 1950s as America’s most successful nightclub magician ever, to Del Ray’s development of a stunningly modern approach to close-up magic that enabled him to demand fees as high as $10,000 a week. This remarkable story is illustrated with 116 vintage photographs. Told with exacting detail and a reverence for the master’s secrets, the biography section of Del Ray: America’s Foremost is a celebration of the personality, the achievements, and the genius that made the magical world of Del Ray unique.
Part Two focuses on a selection of eight of Del Ray’s favorite close-up routines. Gary Plants has written detailed descriptions for seven of these effects: Half-dollar Through Ring, The Bet, Blackjack Deal, the Computer Deck, Gymnastic Aces Without Aces, Final Aces, and Del Ray’s Card Stab.
Eighty original photos of Gary’s hands executing the sleight-of-hand maneuvers accompany his explanations. The Royal Assembly, a Del Ray effect originally written up by Ed Marlo in 1954, is illustrated by Jay Marshall. This section also includes the eight-page audiovisual script for the Companion Video that accompanies the book, two pages of acknowledgements, and a comprehensive Index.
The Companion Video is a 92-minute DVD located in a flap pocket on the inside back cover of each copy of Del Ray: America’s Foremost. Contents include Del Ray’s stage act at the 1983 Tannen’s Magic Jubilee; close-up performances of the Rabbit & Frog, the Singing Bird, Half-Dollar Through Ring, Blackjack Deal, Computer Deck, Dice Stacking, Final Aces, Million Dollar Card Trick, Coin Through Card Box, Gymnastic Aces Without Aces, Card Stab, Flipper, Little Willie, and The Bet.

NOW FOR SOME NEW ARRIVALS:
HUMAN XYLOPHONE by Keith Fields-$120.00
When Keith Fields lectured here at our Magic Studio in Baltimore, he performed the Human Xylophone. He only had three with him at the time and immediately after the lecture, three guys jumped up to get what he had left. All three guys were “working performers.” They saw the value and potential of this great piece of entertainment. It is NOT a magic trick but is really is a great bit of entertainment.
Bacically you have a set of “chimes” and you get eight people from the audience and they each strike their chime with a wooden spoon. The entertianment value of lining them up in correct order and then finally tapping their shoulders to play a song is really top notch fun.
It’s hard to explain and doesnt sound like much BUT I strongly suggest you go to YouTube and type in “Human Xylophone” to see Keith Fields do this great routine.
This is the perfect bit for an entertainer who works for crowds.
Trust me, watch the YouTube clip. You working guys will see the potential in this great bit of business. Perfect for kids or adults.
IF EVER A WIZ THERE WAS by Keith Fields-$35.00
For over 15 years I performed over 250 children’s shows a year. That was until cruises, comedy clubs, corporate shows and trade shows took up all my time. I still do a few kids shows every year to keep my hand in.
If you do shows for children and families then you must have this book… but don’t believe me, read the reviews…
Contents include my 12 of my favorite routines, my thoughts on how to be the best children’s entertainer in your area, advice on comedy for kids, character building, marketing and so much more.
Full patter with many of the routines!
TOPSY TURVY SODA BOTTLES by Michael Mosher-$50.00
Finally, a Topsy Turvy Bottles routine with a kicker ending that will fry them all!
The magician and his volunteer assistant each have a bottle and a tube. No matter how hard they try, as each turns their tube over with the bottle inside, their respective bottles end up going in different directions.
Magically, on the last try, the magician’s bottle finally matches the volunteer’s bottle… and then the magician magically produces a THIRD bottle to give away as a souvenir!
* FINALLY! A set of tricky bottles that CAN’T BREAK!
* Manufactured with lightweight, GENUINE half liter soda bottles.
* Bottles are actually filled with real cola and can be handed out as souvenirs at the end of the routine.
* Because they are real bottles with the scalloped bottoms a new method is used.No tube in a tube gimmick.
* The presentation is timeless. The magician and an audience member each cover their bottles with a tube and they they “follow the arrows.” Each time, the volunteer’s bottle ends up UPSIDE DOWN, and the magician’s stays RIGHT SIDE UP! Must be MAGIC!
* Handcrafted in the USA!
GAZZO CUPS AND BALLS BOOK AND DVD by Gazzo-$50.00
Gazzo is one of the world’s legendary street performers. In this ENORMOUS three hour DVD, Gazzo demonstrates and teaches his famous Street Cups routine. This is THE money-making routine Gazzo uses to close all of his street shows. You’ll learn everything from placement of the wand to where to stand. You’ll learn the moves, the misdirection, the subtleties, and all the presentation tips.
Gazzo teaches you how to do it, and then he teaches you why to do it that way. This is a tried and tested routine. It’s being brought to you by way of the streets after over 20 years of live performance experience. Every action in the routine has a purpose. Nothing is left to chance.
First, Gazzo takes you on a tour of his equipment — The Table Top, The Stand, The Poacher’s Pouch, The Gazzo Cups, The Balls, The Hat, etc. Gazzo says, “Professionals can’t afford cheap props.”
Next, he walks you through the entire routine — The Beginning Phase, The Middle Phase, and The Final Loads. He even walks you through the wand spin!
Finally, Gazzo invites you to sit in on a teach-in with fellow street pro Guy Collins. Guy is a juggler who is just starting to learn Gazzo’s routine. You’ll see Gazzo teaching Guy and walking him through the entire routine, correcting any mistakes and explaining why each move is done a certain way.
But, without question, the hi-light of the DVD is the MASSIVE one hour performance section. This is one of the best live street performance sequences ever captured. You’ll see how Gazzo interacts with his spectators, how he builds the routine toward the finale, and how he encourages a massive hat.
The passionate student of the cups and balls will find this an invaluable resource.
