EFFECT A registered and notarized envelope is mailed to the mayor of your town seven days before your show is to take place. Inside this single, ungimmicked envelope is a single, ungimmicked playing card with a blue back. The mayor is instructed to keep the envelope in his possession and not let anyone tamper with it. (In fact, no one ever does, and there is never any switching of envelopes or cards ever throughout the entire routine.)
On the night of your show, a red-backed deck of cards is freely shown. Each of the cards is absolutely different, and the deck is honestly shuffled and fairly cut. (Note, there are no long or short cards, no roughed cards, no stacked arrangements, no marked cards, no stripped cards, no crimps, no false counts, and no sleight of hand involved whatsoever!) Venue object revelation
Most of your performances take place in one of the following venues:
Auditorium, banquet hall, country club, home, niteclub, outdoors, restaurant, walk-around.
We have compiled a list of 225 common and uncommon objects that can be found in these venues. When you arrive at the location, you select the object you want to dramatically locate during your show.
A spectator “freely” selects a word (the object) from the book and concentrates. Incredibly, you are able to lead them to it in a dramatic fashion!
Reverse book test
In this mindblowing routine – created by Bob Baker – the spectator becomes the mindreader.
You open the book to a page, put your finger on a word, and tell the spectator you will attempt to mentally project that word to them.
They call out a word. You then show them the word that you are pointing at.
They match!
Name game
In this effect, the spectator picks a word. You walk out into the audience, searching around.
Stopping at a woman, you then ask the spectator to call out what he is thinking. The word he is thinking of happens to be a person’s name, lets say ‘Mary.’
You ask the person you stopped at what her name is. It’s Mary!

THREE CARD PRINCE by Harry Anderson-$75.00
The Harry Anderson Three Card Monarch now in a smaller. more manageable version. Cards measure a little over 12″ x 16″ and are beautifully silk screened in four colors on heavy plastic. Harry’s great jumbo three card monte routine will full patter and routine. Extremely baffling. When all three cards turn to Kings for the finish, it really creates an impact. ZONE ZERO BOARD AND DVD by Jerry Andrus-$50.00
When you mention tricks created by Jerry Andrus, several classics of magic come to mind: his Linking Safety Pins, Andrus Card Control, his classic coin routine, Miser’s Miracle are but three. None are more famous, amazing, or popular as his Zone Zero. This routine is totally unique, not difficult to perform, and can be adapted to many situations and themes.
Effect
Show a board (11″ x 17″ styrene plastic with original Jerry Andrus design on both sides). There is a hole near the center. The board is shown on both sides. and both hands are shown empty. The performer reaches through the hole in the board with an empty hand and comes out with a brightly-colored (2.5″) rubber ball. The ball is bounced on the floor to show it is an actual, solid ball. The ball is put back through the hole (and back into “Zone Zero”). Immediately the board is shown on both sides and both hands are repeatedly shown empty in the process…the ball is gone! The magician explains that the ball does not exist when it is in “Zone Zero.” He reaches through the hole and brings the ball back out. “The ball exists when it’s out here…but not when I put it through the hole and into Zone Zero.” The ball is put through the hole and again it completely vanishes. The board is shown on both sides and the hands are empty.
It seems impossible! No body loads. The principles involved can be utilized for a wide variety of other effects. Vanish objects besides a ball, like an orange, pack of smokes, rolled up socks, etc. In addition, you can also utilize the Zone Zero “Master Move” with objects other than the Zone Zero board. For example, show a large book on both sides, then produce items from a book. (This is one idea not included in the instructions. We’re sure you’ll come up with many more!)

The Zone Zero Board Design on this board is the same as on the original board used by it’s inventor, Jerry Andrus. Side one, on the left above, is a picture of Jerry’s pulse. Jerry created this design by placing photographic paper on a turning drum. He then affixed a small mirror on his arm, so it moved with his pulse. In a dark room, he shined a light on the mirror so the reflected light hit the photographic paper on the turning drum. The result was a single, squiggly line created by his pulse. He then duplicated the design, in a spiral fashion, to create the design on the left. This design also appears on the cover of Andrus Card Control.

The “REDONKULOUS!” Routine
Before the show begins a spectator is asked to merely think of any word from either side of a large broadsheet from the local daily newspaper. She has a free choice of literally hundreds or possibly thousands of words. After mentally selecting a word the performer seals the newspaper in an envelope and the spectator takes it with her back to her seat. During the show the performer asks for the envelope from the spectator tears it open and removes the newspaper. The performer explains that the spectator is concentrating on a word from somewhere on the paper and it will be the audience’s job to find that very word. As impossible as it may seem. Tearing the newspaper into two pieces the performer asks a random audience member to choose either half to discard. The choice is made and the performer tears the remaining piece in half and asks another audience member to select a half to discard. The selection is made and the performer again tears the remaining piece in half asking an audience member to select either half to toss away, yet again. Left with a piece about four inches square the performer calls on a final helper from the audience to join him on stage. This spectator is asked to close his eyes and raise a finger and to drop it somewhere on the piece of paper. The spectator does this and is asked to open his eyes and without saying a thing to remember the word that he pointed to. The spectator is then handed a white board and marking pen, and asked to write the word in big bold letters on the board and keep it concealed from the audience’s view. While he is doing this the performer engages the original spectator thinking of a word and asks her to stand and for the first time call out her mentally thought of word in a loud voice. She states her word is, for example, “Flytrap!” The performer asks the spectator with the white board to turn the board around and show everyone the word he pointed to…it is also “Flytrap!”

In 1942, magician Paul Curry invented a card trick that would take the world of pasteboard sorcery by storm. Dubbed Out of This World, this effect, where a spectator separates the red cards from the black ones without looking at them, featured a very rare combination of an extremely powerful effect with an almost self-working methodology and quickly became the most talked-about card trick of its time. On this DVD, you’ll meet five different performers who each has a singular take on this classic trick. Michael Ammar is first with an easy-to-perform version that echoes Curry’s original method. Steve Draun is next with a streamlined version that eliminates any packet switches in the middle of the effect while David Regal takes the Curry methodology a step further, with the spectator not only separating the cards by color but by suit, also! Larry Jennings was one of the greatest sleight-of-hand artists who ever lived. Over the course of his 64 years, he developed many classic plots in card and coin magic. Lots of Larry’s magic has been described in books, videotapes, and DVDs. But, the books often failed to capture the nuances in his work, and he was usually nervous during the shooting of the formal videos and DVDs.
During the early 1970s, Larry left his home in Los Angeles-where he had moved to study with Dai Vernon-and relocated to Lake Tahoe, California, to open his own plumbing business. There he met Louis Falanga, who became Larry’s student and friend. One day in Louis’ living room, Larry allowed himself to be videotaped describing 12 of his favorite routines:

This was the perfect setting for Larry-he was relaxed and in his prime, just making a personal video for a friend. The quality is exactly what you’d expect from a 30 year-old home video made in someone’s living room, and you can even hear someone frying up some bacon in the background. Considering that great material, we can forgive the technical shortcomings (though the tape-original Beta master-has been put through a state-of-the-art digital clean-up).
At the time, few of the routines on the videotape were in print. It is now a quarter-century later and Larry Jennings has been dead for a decade. Most of the items on the tape were later published, but some details and fine points were inadvertently omitted. Other routines, such as the Linking Rings, Lump Of Coal, Coins Through Table using the Pop-Up Move, were never published. All of the routines are superb examples of the finest in close-up magic and some of these, such as the Chop Cup routine, benefit from the best recorded explanations Jennings gave.
Having had the pleasure of watching a copy of this videotape many times over the years and now, through the generosity of Louis Falanga, you will too. So slip the DVD into your player and step back in time to when Jimmy Carter was President of the United States, men were visiting the moon on a regular basis, and Larry Jennings was knocking’em dead.
